Jackson Wang’s first solo sold-out concert — MAGIC MAN WORLD TOUR — landed in Singapore and drew a 10,000-strong crowd for a spectacular evening.
The magic man himself presented more than anyone could ever ask for in a 2-hour concert. Jackson is a multi-hyphenated artiste that promised and delivered. Musicality, artistry and raw emotions — all in one package.
This man’s dedication to his craft shone through at his first-ever solo concert — featuring fan favourites such as “LMLY”, “Blow”, “Dopamine”, and “I LOVE YOU 3000”.
Jackson brought his vision — of wanting people to understand him as a person better — to life and delivered such stellar performances that left the audience wanting more.
MAGIC MAN WORLD TOUR was a visual feast, but what stood out was the storytelling. It was the raw emotions and the heartfelt words that Jackson so sincerely and passionately wanted to convey, coupled with an insane production, from the impeccable stage design to visual direction and theatrics.
The 2-hour concert brought the audience through a series of narratives — ‘Masked’, ‘Abandon’, ‘Hope’ and ultimately, ‘Magic Man’. Each revealing the stories of what is a culmination of Jackson’s growth as an artist and an individual.
Other than unraveling the threads of his mind, this theatrical genius brought us along his journey of self-discovery and acceptance, and displayed such brilliant showmanship that captivated everyone.
Jackson uses “Magic Man” to describe anyone journeying through the different peaks and valleys and how they transform into the most authentic version of themselves.
Known for wanting to be closer to his fans, Jackson also brought two lucky fans onstage for an experience of a lifetime. But what’s better? The man himself went around the venue and picked a handful of fans to join him on stage for the encore finale. Jackson even caught everyone (including the guards) by surprise when he climbed up to Level 2 to get closer to his fans.
Overall, this concert left us in awe with these messages from Jackson to take away: Understand yourself, be good to yourself, focus on your own story, find your happiness, find your freedom, find your standard, and find your magic.
